Christmas Truly Is The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year!

Sleigh bells, whistles, snow, Christmas trees, music with thudding trumpets and nutcrackers. What’s not to love about this holiday season? A big FAT nothing. Seriously guys, Christmas is my most favorite holiday ever. I love decorating the house and playing Christmas music while having wine and egg nog (separately of course)! Since my birth (I’m the oldest sibling), my family has this tradition of story telling, decorating, cooking, and one of my most favorite moments, movies! Every year we watch the 80’s movie A Christmas Story. You know, “Ralphie, you’ll shoot your eye out”! I wanted to take this moment to not only share my Christmas holiday alongside its traditions with you, but also what Christmas is all about. Not only does my family do all of the above and so much more, I was taught that Christmas is much more than gift giving. While the gifts under our tree were always great, they were never the icing on the cake or focus point. It’s more of an accessorized tradition to Christmas which should always stick around. Gifts do help enhance the beauty to Christmas. In my family home, Christmas was and still is more about the spirit of giving (not just in reference to physical gifts), and being there for any and everyone when possible. We all know that Thanksgiving is all about giving thanks and being thankful. I believe Christmas is a continued acceptance to this. Every year my family clears out unwanted items such as clothes, kitchen appliances and such and bundle everything together. We then go as a family and donate to those in need. It’s always fun and we try to make the most out of it. To close with a little fun fact about me. My name means Christmas. Broken down, it means a holly bush at Christmas. I hope you all have an exciting and festive Christmas! Merry Christmas and happy holidays from me to you!
