The Importance of Men's Skin Care

Wash, go, dude no. You've forgotten something. That's whats I say every time I see a guy advertising a facial wash. Advertisement has gotten better but there's still more work to be done. Guys, I cannot stress enough how important it is to spend an extra 20 to 30 minutes on ourselves, seriously. It truly goes along way, and it shows too. We have to do more than just brush, shower, soapy water on the face and wipe dry. Men too can have radiant skin, it’s not just an XX and XY thing here. Here’s my take on how to provide better skincare. For the shower, I must admit a good pair of exfoliating gloves from Amazon have changed my life! Alongside of that, I'd recommend Pre de Provence soaps which are super inexpensive on Amazon. They're triple and quad milled to last longer and provide so much moisture after a shower. I'd also recommend Men's Dove + Care soaps which are great but don't last as long in my opinion. Possibly because I enjoy long showers. After a good shower, find a good body lotion or skin moisturizer that suits your skins' sensitivity. With that being said, Leave the scented Axe stuff alone as this can dry out your skin throughout the day. Now, my favorite area, the face. From the age of 13, I’ve been pro facial washes and moisturizers with SPF. This is very imperative as the sun while good, can be extremely damaging. Take this rule to mind to help with best results, 30/20. With your facial washes, distribute in a circular motion for 30 seconds in the day and 20 seconds at night. Why you ask? To prepare your skin for the day and delete the toxins from the day at night. I find it best to use oils and gels for moderate to severe oily faces, and creams for more dry skin appearances. After a good wash and rinse, it’s best to pat face with a good toner. Currently I’m using Baxter of California's herbal mint toner, followed by Acure’s glowing facial moisturizer. I finalize my last step with a sunscreen hosting an SPF of at least 30. My top list of washes include Acure, Blackwood for men, and Baxter of California's facial soap bar. I’m also going to expose a little secret hack of mine, Dr. Bronner‘s peppermint soap. It’s extremely versatile while waking you up in the day and calming you down at night. As I’ve mentioned before, Baxter of California's herbal mint to toner is nothing but a blessing from God. I will also recommend PCA skin’s pumpkin wine toner. Perfect for the fall season and smells divine! My list of moisturizers would include Acure's glowing face moisturizer, Blackwood for men, Murad's perfecting day and night cream, and Murad's anti-aging moisturizer. Last on my list is a good SPF. Neutrogena sunscreen lotion with SPF 30 works wonders. Feel free to comment, subscribe, or send me an email with any questions. Let me know your thoughts.
